Punjab is one of the most progressive states in the country and the Punjabis are renowned for their entrepreneurial spirit. The startup ecosystem of the state received a great impetus from the ‘New Industrial and Business Development Policy-2017’ which includes Startups and Entrepreneurship as a key pillar. The Policy includes several incentives for startups and university, private and government incubators, and has special focus on Women entrepreneurship. A large part of the support provided to startups is being driven by STPI Mohali, which offers state of the art IT infrastructure and incubation support to startups. Startup Punjab Hub @ STPI is a unique collaboration with Govt Of Punjab, ISB & PTU which not only deliver a State-of-the-art Infrastructure to the start-ups but a programme for building the Start-up ecosystem where Industry, Academia & Govt. are on the same platform. The Hub will house three Centres of Entrepreneurship which will focus on Al/Data Analytics, IoT and Audio Video Graphics.
Software Technology Parks of India, is an Autonomous Society set up by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY), Government of India in 1991, with the objective of encouraging, promoting and boosting the Software Exports from India. Software Technology Parks of India maintains internal engineering resources to provide consulting, training and implementation services. Services cover Network Design, System Integration, Installation, Operations and maintenance of application networks and facilities in varied areas. Process development is based on the Quality Management System. Software Technology Parks of India centre also adhere to ISO 9001 certification.
This self-sustaining campus spread over 70 acres has been designed by New York-based Perkins Eastman. The campus is designed to meet the LEEDS Gold sustainability criteria, with energy-efficient mechanical and electrical fixtures, rain water harvesting, maximised day lighting and passive environmental controls. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art learning infrastructure – lecture theatres, a 500-seater auditorium, high-definition video conferencing, seamless access to digital and online library resources, and cashless payments through use of smart cards.
STPI Neuron, a Centre of Entrepreneurship in AI/Data Analytics, IoT and AVG is setup in collaboration with Govt. of Punjab, ISB-Mohali, PTU and Meity. This is an initiative, to identify and evaluate promising start-ups in the field of AI/Data Analytics, IoT and AVG that will be hosted in the Startup Punjab Hub@STPI Mohali Incubation Facility. Startup Punjab Hub@STPI Mohali will have dedicated 500 seats co-working space and dedicated labs for AI/Data Analytics, IoT and AVG. Apart from physical infrastructure, the hub will have the access to Technocrats mentorship, mentorship programs and VC fundings.

Shri Arvind Kumar is the Director General of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). Before joining STPI, he was working in Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) since 2004. As advisor in TRAI, he was responsible for formulating policies on broadband, data security & privacy issues, manufacturing, DTH, IPTV, TV broadcasting and OTT, after having worked since 1997 in the Indian Government run premier technology centre, C-DoT, in various capacities.
He also has worked with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as Rapporteur on the issues related to Migration to Next Generation Network (NGN) including OTT, cloud computing, security and privacy related issues. Shri Kumar holds an MTech degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi, India.

Shri Devesh Tyagi is Senior Director, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). He has more than 26 years of experience in IT/ESDM sector. He has been actively involved in the promotion of IT/ESDM sector and also working for the promotion of entrepreneurship, innovation and product creation in the country. He has also been involved in various policy formations for IT/ESDM sector. Prior to joining STPI, he served National Informatics Centre (NIC) in various capacities. He has a wide range of experience in Project Management and Software development. He possesses strong technical capabilities and delivered lot of remarkable projects during this period. Shri Tyagi has earned his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Marathawada University and Masters Degree from BITS, Pilani.

Prof. (Dr) Ajay K. Sharma Joined IKG Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar as 13th Vice Chancellor on 27th March 2018. Earlier Prof. Sharma was Director, National Institute of Technology, Delhi from 10th Oct 2013 to 26th March 2018 and during this period he also served as Director, Hamirpur H.P (Additional Charge) from May 3, 2016 to March 21, 2018 and Mentor Director (Additional Charge), IIIT Una from May 3, 2016 to March 21, 2018.

Sh. Rajendra Srivastava is the Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB) and the Novartis Professor of Marketing strategy and Innovation. He comes with an experience of over 30 years as an academic and administrator. He has held several tenured faculty and administrative positions during his career. Before joining the ISB, he was Provost and Deputy President of Academic Affairs at Singapore Management University.

Shri Paritosh Dandriyal, Director STPI Gurugram jurisdiction joined STPI as Director at STPI HQ in May 2016. As Director at STPI HQ he has looked after various technical services provided by STPI to IT industry like planning, setting up and functioning of STPI Datacentres at various locations, provisioning of Datacom services and functioning of STPI as Class A ISP, creation of IT grade infrastructure for STPI and Incubation services for entrepreneurs as well as CISO of STPI.
Prior to joining STPI, he was CEO of a Defence Avionics company and before that he had served in the Indian Army for around 25 years in planning and providing engineering support to various Army units. He has also been instrumental in design and development of training simulators for Indian Army.
An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Pune, he is a B Tech (Electronics) from JNU, M Tech (Modelling and Simulation) from Pune University, Specialisation in Radar and Control Systems, PG Certificate in Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur and PMP from PMI USA. He has vast experience in Project management and Operations management, managing human resources and finance at various levels.

I.S. Paul, the Chairman & Managing Director of Drish Infotech & Drish Shoes. He is a Masters in Chemistry and an MBA in International Business and Finance from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland. With varied domains entrepreneurship, his group companies have presently a turnover crossing Rs. 250 crore. Mr. Paul has served on the Board of Directors of State Bank of Patiala. He has been the Chairman, Chandigarh chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for three years and was the President for TIE Chandigarh Chapter for the year 2005-06, 2006-2007, 2007-08. He is known for his contribution to entrepreneurship development in the region.
